It is not news that the phosphoric acid content of soda leaches calcium from your body. This post about the phosphate content of soda contributing to premature aging was yet another somewhat depressing reason to avoid dark carbonated sodas. Many sodas contain citric acid and not phosphoric acid to provide carbonation. However, phosphorus apparently is used in many processed foods, and should be a concern to many people concerned about their kidneys (like diabetics).
I grew up guzzling soda. I occasionally enjoy some diet soda. I don’t ever bring it home.
