Scott Sigler: New York Times Bestselling Author

I really liked “The Rookie”, even more than I liked “Earthcore”. I’ve started “The Crypt” and I’m enjoying that, also. The Contagion series ha been enjoyable, but I don’t usually go into staight alien-horror. However, i suspect that the Contagin series does stem a lot from established zombies horror tropes. Enjoy!

  1. I’m glad you liked THE ROOKIE! Have you also read the sequel, THE STARTER? The INFECTED/CONTAGIOUS series has nothing to do with zombies, actually, but I’m glad you’re enjoying it.

    • Scott! I grew up Hating Football and footballers with the same level of disdain that I hung with the label bible thumpers. Anyhow, I’m a bit mellower now, and I very much enjoyed the Rookie and I think it’s the best sports/sci-fi crossover I’ve ever listened to. I just heard the trailers for The Starter stitched to the start of The Crypt. I’m digging The Crypt…its quite like the brutal sci-fi I was trying to write when I was a teenager. Looking forward to The Starter!

Infected/Contagious–yeah–not zombies, I totally goofed on that. Sci-fi alien horror. I must totally harbor an initial zombie image of the infected victims in the story for some reason tho.

  2. You’re not the only one thinking they are zombie books. I got a couple of bad reviews on Amazon from people who thought they were zombie books. Ugh! Glad you enjoyed THE ROOKIE. THE STARTER is out on downloadable audiobook if you want to buy it (, and the free podcast begins in Feb.

    • I’m almost done listening to the chapters in The Crypt about the Washington D.C. and the artifact. Bravo! Tom Clancy and be your toilet attendant now, man. He never wrote as good an action scene.
