Jesse has named it The Bass of Spades. We gave a second coat of stain to the headstock and only coat was needed for the body. The neck/fretboard got boiled linseed oil.
Jesse is building an electric bass guitar from a kit we bought from Reverb. We need to sand and finish the neck and body. Then we solder the electronics together. The results will be gratifying.
To focus on using supplies we have, we decided to use a darker teak stain for the body and headstock. The fretboard we will treat with linseed oil.
Given the Whatcom County health recommendations to avoid groups of 10 or more, and the general minimization of activities at Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship, our D&D group meetings are suspended. I would encourage participants to move games online. There are already several members on Discord (a chat app) and it will be possible to play games remotely.
Please reach out for any connection details if you would like them.

The AWOL gnomes from Faroth island stole a jeweled sword from a Yuan-ti captain. This news is heard by the Thieves Dragon Guild, established by Rodorax hundreds of years ago. This jeweled sword interests him in his dreams, and Rodorax’s dream voice speaks to the guild leader, establishing a grand bounty on the sword. Bring the sword to the cairn east of Galentaspar and be paid richly.
Well, what proud, devious and frustrated naval commander would not pay for such knowledge? What will happen when they all meet and the cairn east of Galentaspar? Who else has ears on that string, who would send our heros on their quest?
There will be OWL classes on Nov 24 and not Dec 1. Dec 1 is also a travelling holiday for many people. Let’s move our Dec 1 game to Nov 24.
Projects like OPNsense.org provide you with an .img file that you would dd to a USB device to boot from. This is not obvious how to use from VirtualBox. You need to convert that into a VMDK file. Basically, the command I used was:
vboxmanage convertfromraw OPNsense-19.7-OpenSSL-serial-amd64.img /tank/VMs/4544-opnsense-19-freebsd/opensense-19.7-usb.vmdk –format vmdk
Then attach that VMDK file to your virtual SATA controller and when you boot really quick! Hit F12 and choose option 2. That’s your USB device.
