place it in a paper bag on top of a heating pad on low. close bag with a clip and let it rest. if you can hear movement after awhile take it out side and maybe it can fly away after being stunned, hopefully not having broken its neck. (I had to do this last week)

Thanks for the advice, I’ll keep that in mind. When I looked, there was no poor critter to be found. Musta not struck that hard, or not landed on my roof or my lawn.
the real problem is if there is a skulking cat nearby while it is still stunned…
