Unfortunately, there is no better time to demonstrate, and teach, good bicycling behavior. I was totally unaware that the criminal justice system in many cities is extending criminal traffic law to bicycle infractions of minors. Once you have an arrest record, that will never leave you. Worse, this can be applied in a oligarchical manner, not being enforced in affluent neighborhoods. This is not justice–not in the face of climate crisis and a century of rampant traffic death.
