I saw this reference to a power assist cargo trike posted on twitter, and I must say–I like! I’ve always been impressed with the notion of work bikes, but there’s no way the usual American housewife would look at one and suddenly find love. An appealing design, power assist, and lifestyle relevance–a machine that helps with kids and shopping is very important to getting families out of their cars. The street gallery photos seems to show that the front wheels are tilt-steering. This allows easier steering and better use of round-profile tires. (Fixed axle trikes don’t benefit from round tires, but square tires.)
I hope this design succeeds!
For comparison, here’s a picture of a classic European bakfiet design.
