On my way home from work, I came upon a cyclist that appeared to be just recovering from some kind of interruption. I rode along side him for a while and we talked most of the way south on Northwest.

Rod is 73, he began cycling three years ago. He’d done two of the 50 mile Tour de Whatcoms, and every year cycles down the Oregon coast. This year he invited his nephew, and then his son, and then his daughter in law and their son wanted to come along as well! So Rod’s quiet trip to the oregon coast has turned into something of a peregination.

I hope I’m riding with my family still in 35 years. Rod’s a lucky guy.
