Pogoplug now running hostapd

I was not anticipating it not being able to reach channel 11, so I set it to channel 1. Also, it cannot do 802.11n, so I set it to 802.11g. My cell phone seems to be able to use it.

Also, for some reason, my pogoplug syncs up to the same switch better than my laptop does. Using iperf on my laptop, I get a max of 95Mbps, yet on my pogoplug I get 180Mbps over the LAN. That is just too wierd.

  1. Are you letting NetworkManager on your laptop manage the WiFi connection? I have never had good luck with that thing.

It must be a very old PogoPlug to not have 802.11n support, but I wonder why it can’t use channel 11.

By the way, I’m a channel 1,6,&11 denier. Channels 3 and 9 are the only true channels to choose from.

    • Well, this is a debian 7 install, uname -a: 3.14.0-kirkwood-tld-1 #1 PREEMPT Tue Apr 1 22:54:58 PDT 2014 armv5tel GNU/Linux
So, while this TP-LINK TL-WN722N should support /n. It could be a problem with the driver or module options. I might need to turn off encryption. I should check for ‘options ath9k nohwcrypt=1’ in modprobe.d.

      Channels 1,6,11 v 3,9? I guess its silly, I’ve got one on 4 and the pogo on … 1?
